If God were plural, why is God always mentioned as He in the Bible-WMSCOG

Those who slander the truth say, “If God were plural, why is God always mentioned as ‘He’ in the Bible?” Let’s find out why their insistence is contrary to the teachings of the Bible.

1. Plural God who is called “us”

They say that God is always described as “He” in the Bible, then how would they explain the verses below?

  • Ge 1:26-27 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness . . .” . . . in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
  • Ge 11:6-7 The LORD said, “. . . Come, let us go down and confuse their language . . .”

In the Bible, God clearly refers to “us,” which is plural. Denying this truth is to deny God. In verse 26, God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness . . .” If God were one, He should have said, “Let me make man in my image, in my likeness . . .” However God used the plural pronoun “us.” The reason is found in verse 27. When man was made in the image of plural God, described as “us,” male and female were created. So, in the image of God there must be God of male image and God of female image.

In other words, God photocopied the image of God. Then male and female were copied. If male and female came out as a copy, God, who is the original, must exist as God of male image and God of female image. So, we call God of male image “our Father in heaven”, and God of female?image “our Mother in heaven” .

  • Mt 6:9 “This, then, is how you should pray: ” ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,
  • Gal 4:26 But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother.

2. The reason why God is described as “He”

Do you know who first sinned by eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the Garden of Eden? It was Eve, the wife of Adam. However, the Bible says that “Adam” was the first person to sin (Ro 5:12-14). Do you know why? It is because Adam and Eve are considered to be one, and among these two, Adam is the representative. Through Adam and Eve, we can understand God Elohim because Adam and Eve were created in the image of God Elohim. The Bible says that these two people, Adam and Eve, are one body (Ge 2:24), and calls the sin of these two “a sin of one man, Adam.”

In the same way, God exists as God the Father and God the Mother. However, we can of course describe God as if they were one, and we can use the word “He,” a word to describe a man, to describe God. It is because God the Father is the representative even though they both exist. Therefore, it is a wrong insistence that God the Mother does not exist because the word “He” is used for God.

Hmm~ I can understand what this mean.
Even though we call the God the father, it stands for Elohim God.

  • January 21, 2012 at 3:33 pm

In the word of father , we can under stand there is mother, too.

  • January 22, 2012 at 12:55 pm

But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our MOTHER. the truth about God the Mother is recorded obviously in the bible.

How deep it is! That’s still difficult to me but I like to come to this web site
    I feel I found a special treasure. I wanna learn more 🙂

Ha! I wasn’t farsighted enough to think of that.
Romans 5:12-14, it’s truly says that “Adam” was the first person to sin..!

Thanks to Elohim God, Christ Ahnsahnghong and God the Mother who have come in the flesh according to the prophecy of the bible. How blessing to receive the water of life without cost in this age !!!
We come to know God through the bible because the bible contains the wisdom of salvation.
Recognizing God is the first step toward salvation.
Some people insist, “If God were plural, why is God always mentioned as ‘He’ in the Bible?”
Do you also think in this way? Please, think the word, { always } !!
Of course, in the bible, God is mentioned as “He” in many verses. However, NOT [ALWAYS] !!!!
■Ge 11:6-7 The LORD said, “. . . Come, let us go down and confuse their language . . .”
■Gal 4:26 But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother.
Those who insist in that way cannot explain about these verses in the bible.
If [Always] is right, these verses should not be written in the bible.
Mother in Gal 4:26 does not mean [He].
Furthermore, the word [God the Father] imples the existence of God the Mother.
You know that father and mother together give us life and we call them ‘my father and mother’. Do you agree?

There is no doubt in the fact that people were created by our Elohim God.
Through all the verses, we could recognize that Father is the representative of Elohim God
and it is so amazing that it has something to do with the prophecy of Adam and Even!

  • February 17, 2012 at 3:01 pm

Wow, amazing! the prophecy of Adam and Eve!

  • February 23, 2012 at 1:27 pm

I agree with jeccy. In the word ‘father’,there should be mother!

  • February 28, 2012 at 2:14 pm

wow.. every answer is hidden in the bible and we can clearly see this. Then, what can we deny in this point??
As written in the bible, Christ is truly MYSTERIES! I give all thanks and praise to Elohim God.

  • February 28, 2012 at 2:25 pm

So true!! If there is Father, it is common sense there should exist Mother as well!
Thankfully, God allowed the family system in order for us to understand the Heavenly Family!

  • March 2, 2012 at 2:33 pm

Adam is the representative of Adam and eve, who are one.
Everything is so much clear and clearly prophesied in the Bible. If we deny the words of God, then it is a denial of God.

If God were singular, why God mentioned as “Us” in the Bible?
    (Gen 1:26, 11:6, Isa 6:8)

  • March 4, 2012 at 4:52 am

This is such a perfect truth that God the Father is the representative even though God the Mother also exists.

  • March 12, 2012 at 2:29 pm

It’s confusing that God refers to ‘us’ in some verses and also described as ‘he’.
I think we need look more verses to be sure if God the Mother exists or not.

But I see God is not always described as ‘He’ in the Bible. sometimes as us. INTERESTING.

The biblical explanation about their errors or misunderstanding is so clear!
    Couldn’t be better!

  • March 26, 2012 at 3:48 am

To all thing that God created is to save our soul .
Why God come to the earth second time with Elohim God?
Those who don’t believe in God the Father and God the Mother, to remind their heart.
pls waste our own thinking, receive the words of God.

  • April 2, 2012 at 7:34 am

God the Father and God the Mother came to this earth to save us, all sinners.
When we look into the Bible more closely, we can then underatand the truth and the secrets of God.

  • April 7, 2012 at 1:33 pm

Those who insist in that way maybe believe in God.
Then, they will acknowledge that they call God as God the Father, surely.
Jesus, who is in very nature God, taught that God is our Father[Mt 6:8~9] !!!
Think carefully!! Here, Jesus also declared that God the Mother also exists!!
Is it possible that a man can be called ‘father’ without the existence of ‘mother’?
    Do you think so????

  • April 13, 2012 at 9:49 pm

    Always mentioned as He? No!!

Gen 11:1~9[~ As men moved eastward, they found a plain in Shinar and settled there. Theysaid to each
other,”Come, let’s make bricks and bake them throughly.”~ But the Lord God came down to see the city
and the tower that the men were building. The Lord said,~ Come, let US go down and confuse their language so
they will not understand each other~]

Here, ‘US’ means God as plural!!

  • April 16, 2012 at 2:55 pm

    I remember this verse!!
Gal 4:26[But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother.]

And, I know that this teaching came from God who can allow me eternal life, not from you nor me.
Do you trust in God’s teaching??

  • May 16, 2012 at 10:27 am

SO MUCH BIBLICAL!!! Although there are so many churches but which one is truly
following the teachings of God as written in the Bible? anybody can answer me??
We cannot deny that most churches are corrupted with people’ s own interest and tradition.
In this situation, who on earth could give us the salvation? is it a church? or
my respectable pastor? Eternal should be found from the right knowledge of God.

  • November 24, 2012 at 9:25 am

Elohim God described themselves as “Us”. God directly said “Us”
Isn’t it enough to believe there is God the Mother as well as God the Father?

  • December 7, 2012 at 6:31 am

When looking at the bible and taking it at face value it comes off as being male dominant.
Even thougn Eve sinned it says man sinned becuase man and women are one.
Gen 2:24 For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh”

But the truth hidden in the bible is Actually about Mother. It may seem as though man is the main character but hidden behind is Heavenly Mother. Through who we can receive salvation.

  • January 18, 2013 at 5:59 pm

Just how our own father is the representative, so is our God the Father. God the Mother is with Him always. 🙂 That is how we could be true children of God, with the completion of the Heavenly Family.

  • February 4, 2013 at 2:18 am

In the Hebrew bible, Us- ELOHIM was written more than 2500 tines.
Surely no one can deny that there’s more than one God.
From all creation we can see though different nationality and skin color and language and characters of human being but there’s only 2 gender.
    Male and Female.
Therefore it’s surely that there are 2 Gods- Father and Mother
We must look at the Bible not insisting on our own opinion but open our heart to see what God has made.
We should not judge based on one word ‘he’.

I met a person who asked me the same question, so I explained to her just like this article and she said it made sense 🙂
