It is believed that the teachings of the Church of God focus on the Passover, and not the real hope of the resurrection of Christ. Why is this argument not biblical?
All of God’s teachings are important to God’s people. Their importance is applied not only to the words of keeping the Passover to receive eternal life, but to the truth of resurrection of life. It is incorrect to judge the importance of God’s commandments by men’s own thoughts. Every word in the bible is precious and must be the law that we keep.
- Rev. 22:18 I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book.? And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.
Jesus promised us eternal life through the New Covenant Passover, which is why we consider it important. So, those who do not keep the Passover promised by Jesus are actually the ones who do not believe in Him.
Also, the resurrection of Christ was revealed in advance in order to show His resurrection to those who believe Him, and only those given eternal life through the Passover are to receive the blessing of resurrection on the last day. ?However, those who do not receive eternal life through the New Covenant Passover will not be resurrected on the last day.
Therefore, people’s belief that they will be resurrected on the last day, while denying the New Covenant Passover established by Jesus as the promise of eternal life, is meaningless and their arguments are not biblical.
