For this, most Christians insist that Elohim is God in Trinity?the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
How can one God become a plural form of Gods and be described as “us” or “our”?
If God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit exist respectively, the expression of the plural form is right but the words of Genesis are not consistent.
If Elohim is God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, it should have been written in Genesis 1:27 as follows:
- “God created man in the image of God (the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit); the father, the son and (?) he created them.”
However,?Genesis 1:27?says as follows:
- Ge 1:27?So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
Man who was created in the image of God was male and female. The fact that male and female were created means that there are the male image of God and the female image of God.?The Bible lets us know that the male image of God is Father.
- Mt 6:9?“This, then, is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven?. . .’ ”
And it also tells that the female image of God is Mother.
- Rev 22:17?The Spirit and the bride say,?“Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.
The plural noun of “Elohim” and the plural pronoun of “us” testify about the existence of God the Father and God the Mother. The Bible is the book that testifies about God the Father and God the Mother from the first chapter of Genesis to the last chapter of Revelation.
