The people who slander the Church of God are not aware or cognizant of biblical prophecy and its fulfillment; thereby, slandering our church erroneously. Let us examine the Bible to have the correct understanding. The book if Isaiah itself testifies that King Cyrus partially fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah 46:11. There is no doubt that the eagle from the east in Isaiah 46:11 is the man from the east in Isaiah 41:1-4. What will happen when the man from the east in Isaiah 41 appears… all idolaters will unite and God will comfort his true people with His word that He will be with them, and there is no need to fear.
- Isaiah 41:5-11?The islands have seen it and fear; the ends of the earth tremble. They approach and come forward; they help each other and say to their companions, “Be strong!” The metalworker encourages the goldsmith, and the one who smooths with the hammer spurs on the one who strikes the anvil. One says of the welding, “It is good.” The other nails down the idol so it will not topple. “But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, you descendants of Abraham my friend, I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. I said, ‘You are my servant’; I have chosen you and have not rejected you. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. “All who rage against you will surely be ashamed and disgraced; those who oppose you will be as nothing and perish.
What did the idolaters see and fear? They saw the eagle from the east, which is the man who appeared from the east. When the Savior from the east appears, an ecumenical movement of false religions will occur. Did this happen when King Cyrus appeared? No, this never happened. False religions were not scared into uniting by the appearance of King Cyrus; therefore, this proves that this prophecy was not completely fulfilled by King Cyrus.
Then, when will the ecumenical movement start?
This will happen when the Savior, the Second Coming Christ, appears to destroy the spiritual Babylon.??That is why Jesus prophesied that in the last days, He will tie them in bundles according to the parable of weeds.
Matthew 13:30?“Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.”
Matthew 13:39?“. . . and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels.”
The parable of the weeds is a prophecy given by Jesus, who foretold events that would take place from His first coming up until the last days. The weeds represent the evil doers who will be bundled as one in the last day, the ecumenical movement of false religions in Isaiah Chapter 41.
To fulfill all the prophecies in Isaiah 46:11 and 41:1-4, ecumenical movement of false religions has to take place when the Savior from the East appears.
When Christ Ahnsahnghong started His ministry with the truth of the Passover, the papacy of Rome (Babylon the Great) lead the ecumenical movement. In 1948, the World Council of Churches was founded. This ecumenical movement tried to reunite the Catholic Church with non-Catholic churches. Then in 1962, at the 2nd Vatican Council, the Roman Catholic Church emphasized the unity of Christianity with other religions. In newspapers and on television recently, we can see the pope hugging and reconciling with other religious leaders, and also cardinals delivering sermons in Buddhist temples.
Without the appearance of 2nd Coming Christ, the Savior from the east, Christ Ahnsahnghong, the prophecy in Isaiah would have been only partially fulfilled by King Cyrus… Would God allow a prophecy to go unfulfilled?
Others may argue that it is inconsistent to interpret one prophecy into partial fulfillment and complete fulfillment, but we can point to many cases in the bible that reflect this example. According to Matthew Chapter 24, Jesus Christ explains about the prophecy of the destruction of Jerusalem and about the last days; however, Jesus did not distinguish them, but explained it as one whole prophecy. Why did He do that? The reason He explained it as one whole prophecy was because the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70 is a copy and shadow of the last destruction. Since prophecy is self-repeating, He did not distinguish it but explained it as a whole.
It is the same with the prophecy in the book of Isaiah. The history of King Cyrus, who released God’s people from physical Babylon, is a copy and shadow of the Second Coming Christ who will release God’s people from the spiritual Babylon. This is why God showed us the history of two events through one prophecy. With Jesus own words, “He said to them, ‘Therefore every teacher of the law who has been instructed about the Kingdom of heaven is like the owner of a house who brings out of his storeroom new treasures as well as old.’” (ref. Matt. 13:52)
