Some people insist that if they only eat bread and drink wine regardless of date, it is to participate in Jesus’ flesh and blood. As they insist, if we only eat bread and drink wine at any day, do we eat Jesus’ flesh and drink His blood?
- Mt 26:17-28 On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Where do you want us to make preparations for you to eat the Passover?” He replied, “Go into the city to a certain man and tell him, ‘The Teacher says: My appointed time is near. I am going to celebrate the Passover with my disciples at your house.’ ” So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them and prepared the Passover . . . While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.” Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.”
- Mk 14:12-16 On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, when it was customary to sacrifice the Passover lamb, Jesus’ disciples asked him, “Where do you want us to go and make preparations for you to eat the Passover?” So he sent two of his disciples, telling them, “Go into the city, and a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him. Say to the owner of the house he enters, ‘The Teacher asks: Where is my guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?’ He will show you a large upper room, furnished and ready. Make preparations for us there.” The disciples left, went into the city and found things just as Jesus had told them. So they prepared the Passover.
- Lk 22:8-15 Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, “Go and make preparations for us to eat the Passover.” “Where do you want us to prepare for it?” they asked. He replied, “As you enter the city, a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him to the house that he enters, and say to the owner of the house, ‘The Teacher asks: Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?’ He will show you a large upper room, all furnished. Make preparations there.” They left and found things just as Jesus had told them. So they prepared the Passover. When the hour came, Jesus and his apostles reclined at the table. And he said to them, “I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer.”
Every Gospel book says that having the bread and wine which contains the promise of Jesus’ flesh and blood is eating the Passover. Since there are many words of the testimony, how can we deny it? The bread and wine people have at any day cannot become Jesus’ flesh and blood. Only the bread and wine we have on the Passover are the very flesh and blood of Jesus. Then, when is the Passover?
- Lev 23:5 The LORD’s Passover begins at twilight on the fourteenth day of the first month.
To eat bread and drink wine in the evening of the fourteenth day of the first month in the sacred calendar, neither in the solar calendar nor in the lunar calendar is to keep the Passover. Those who believe in Jesus and receive Him absolutely obey the words of Jesus Christ. On the contrary, those who despise the words of Jesus deny Him and reject Him. How can they enter the kingdom of God by rejecting Jesus Christ? The only church that keeps the New Covenant Passover according to Jesus’ teaching is the Church of God.
