The Bible says that Jesus Christ sacrificed once for all when He offered Himself (Heb 9:8; 7:27). This explains that Christ sacrifices just once. However, the Church of God teaches that there are still two or three more times of sacrifice of Christ even after the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. Biblical evidence about Christ Ahnsahnghong and Heavenly Mother’s sacrifice cannot be found anywhere.
Moreover, they let the members work for the church until they are tired, saying that they have to follow the sacrifice of Christ. Having them shorten their sleep hours and feel guilty is a heretical method to brainwash and control them.
1. Distinction between the death as the sin offering and the sacrifice for the gospel ministry
Their claim that we teach that there are two or three more times of sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, is from their ignorance of being unable to distinguish between the death as the sin offering and the sacrifice for the gospel ministry.
Christ was sacrificed, shedding on the cross as the sin offering for our sins that deserve death penalty. Such sacrifice was only once done at His first coming. It is because Jesus completely redeemed us from our sins that deserve death, by being sacrificed on the cross as the reality of all the feast offerings. Therefore, the sacrifice as the sin offering is no more needed.
In other words, it is just once at His first coming that Jesus took the punishment of “death” instead of us as the sin offering.
The words of Heb 9:28 and 7:27 they quoted explain such sacrifice of Christ.
2. The sacrifice of Christ is not just a mere death
Would the sacrifice of Christ to save us be only the death on the cross? It is not.
First, Jesus came to this earth in the flesh by humbling Himself after leaving all the glory of heaven behind in order to save us, and lived the painful life in the flesh just like us sinners who were to die. Therefore, God already sacrificed so much just by the fact that He came to this earth which is a spiritual prison, in the flesh.
Second, rather than living a comfortable life on this earth, Jesus did His ministry for three years in order to save sinners at His first coming. He said, “Foxes have holes and birds have nests, but the Son of Man does not have a place to lay His head.” In such a humble way of life, He never stopped saving sinners even in the midst of persecution and scorn of the people.
Likewise, all the life of Jesus was sacrifice itself―not only His death on the cross, but also His birth and life on this earth, and His gospel ministry.
3. The sacrifice for the gospel ministry
Christ’s suffering of death as the sin offering was done at His first coming. However, there was the sacrifice of Christ for the gospel ministry at His first coming, and there will be at His second coming as well. Let us examine this matter.
Jesus, who came as the bridegroom of the heavenly wedding banquet at His first coming, came in the “flesh” and said, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink” (Jn 7:37). However, in the last days, too, the Spirit [Lamb], who is the bridegroom of the heavenly wedding banquet, along with the bride says, “Whoever is thirsty, let him come to take the water of life.” The same thing is repeated.
Then in what form will the Spirit and the bride come to give us the water of life? For sure, They will come in the flesh just as Jesus’ first coming, to give the water of life freely. Since the Spirit and the bride come in the flesh, the sacrifice of leaving all the heavenly glory behind and the sacrifice for the gospel ministry is inevitable. Therefore, the fact that the Bible testified about the coming of the Spirit and bride in the flesh through the example of the first coming, testifies about the hardship and sacrifice of the Spirit and the bride through Their gospel ministry.
The sacrifice of Christ Ahnsahnghong and Heavenly Mother we speak about is the sacrifice through Their gospel work. Therefore, their claim that there is no longer sacrifice after Jesus’ first coming is from their lack of understanding of the true meaning of the Bible including Rev 22:17, and from their ignorance that the sacrifice of Christ was only His death as the sin offering.
4. Wrong perspective about the sacrifice of Christians
They claim that it is a heretical method of brainwashing to teach people to work hard for the gospel by remembering the sacrifice and love of Christ for our salvation. What they claim is the same to insist that the apostles of the early Church were brainwashers.
It’s because all the apostles taught this way.
How ignorant is their assertion? What kind of people are they to call the mindset of the gospel workers “brainwashed” in order to oppose us? All their assertions are from a jealous mind of Satan toward the spirits who were destined to die in hell but are going back to the kingdom of heaven.
