[False Claim of NCPCOG]
Christ Ahnsahnghong came as a prophet and not as Christ, so we must pray in the name of Jesus even now.
1. There is the name of the Holy Spirit
If God’s work of salvation finishes with the name of Jesus, why is there the name of the Holy Spirit? If only the name of the Father and the name of the Son are the names of Savior and the work of salvation finishes with the two names, Jesus should have told His disciples to give people baptism, the sign of salvation, with only two names?the name of the Father and the name of the Son; He should not have uttered the name of the Holy Spirit. However, Jesus told them to go and baptize all people in three names―in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the “Holy Spirit” (Mt 28:18). So, their insistence is wrong. The Bible clearly testifies that there is the age when we receive salvation in the name of the Father, and the age when we receive salvation in the name of the Son (Isa 43:11; Ac 4:11). So, there must be the age of the Holy Spirit when we receive salvation in the name of the Holy Spirit?the last name among the three names Jesus spoke.
2. The Holy Spirit’s name written in the Bible
If God’s people, who live in the last days, are saved in the name of Jesus, there must not be a prophecy that another name will be given to them. However, the Bible clearly prophesies that he who overcomes, that is, the people of God, will receive the new name of Jesus (Rev 3:12; 2:17). Can the new name be Jesus? Jesus’ new name cannot be Jesus; it must be another name. Then, why does God give us Jesus’ new name? Does He give it to us with no reason? Think of the times when the name of the Father and of the Son was given. When God gave the name of the Father, it was the name of the Savior and people prayed in that name. When God gave the name of the Son, it was the name of the Savior and the saints prayed in that name.
Then, when God gives us Jesus’ new name, isn’t it natural that it is the Savior’s name and we must pray in that name?
3. Even though He came as a prophet, He is the Savior
If God comes as a prophet, can He not become Christ? If they insist in that manner, Jesus cannot be Christ. That is because Jesus came as a prophet like Moses, and as a servant of the LORD (Dt 18:18; Isa 42:1-4). So their claim is false. Jesus who came as a prophet was definitely Christ, and the apostles who believed in Him prayed in the name of Jesus. Therefore the NCPCOG’s claim that they must not pray in the name of Father Ahnsahnghong because He came as a prophet does not make sense at all. Whoever truly follows Christ Ahnsahnghong must believe in Him as Christ and pray in the name of Christ Ahnsahnghong.
They are foolish enough to insist that the name of the Holy Spirit is “Counselor.” The counselor is not a name but a title. For example, there are titles like president and teacher. Can we say that those tiles are the name of a person? Above all else, the names of the Father and of the Son were proper nouns―Jehovah and Jesus respectively. Then, how can we say that only the name of the Holy Spirit is not a proper noun but a title? Therefore, their insistence is wrong.
