The Three Brothers in Fukuoka

White clouds floating in the blue sky―it seems like we can almost touch them if we stretch out our hands. This beautiful place where we are is Fukuoka, Japan.

People here live in a place with beautiful scenery like a picture in a fairy tale, but they do not seem to have time to spare even to look at the sky. When we preach the words, what we hear most of the time is that they are busy or sick or not interested.

At first, all my family could say in Japanese was some greetings. Moreover, people’s reactions were cold enough to make us get cold feet. But that didn’t make us give up on preaching. Keeping in mind the will of God who sent us here and our mission, we gathered up our minds together and knocked on the doors again.

The first man we found was Brother Jang Ho. He says that he comes to Zion (WMSCOG) because he feels comfortable even though he doesn’t understand the Bible very well. However his actions show that he doesn’t mean it. Even for little matters, he says, “Thanks to God. God did it for me. Only God can do it.” He often surprises us like that. One day, he invited one of his friends and boasted about our church, saying that the World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCOG) really has God’s true love.

He also helps us teach Brother Li Jin who has come to Japan from China to study. Since he has been in Japan for just a short time, he speaks only English and Chinese. We didn’t know what to do when we first met him because we didn’t speak English or Chinese, but then Brother Jang Ho volunteered to help.

The fragrance of Zion that Brother Li Jin shares with us is just like a gem.

“I’m so happy that my name’s been written in the book of life. Thank you.”

“I didn’t know I was a sinner. I don’t have anything to boast about.”

“I’d like to share God’s words with people.”

I can feel exactly how he felt when he was moved while studying the Bible.

I cannot help but mention another brother. He is Brother Matsushita who likes Korea very much. He was led to the truth in Korea by a Korean friend whom he met during his trip in Korea, and he came back to Japan after keeping the Passover in the New Jerusalem Temple where Mother dwells. His nickname in Zion is “Smile man.” He is very humble and gentle, and he takes good care of other brothers and sisters. It’s hard to believe that he is a new brother.

One Sabbath day, I looked at the brothers and sisters while eating together in Zion (WMSCOG). Their faces were full of smiles. Suddenly I got a lump in my throat, and it was hard to swallow. I liked that feeling though. I give thanks to Father Ahnsahnghong and Heavenly Mother for blessing us to meet these precious heavenly brothers and sisters in Fukuoka.

My son likes the story, “Romance of the Three Kingdoms,” very much. Once he told me about the three characters in the story―Zhang Fei who is faithful and united himself with his sworn brothers, Guan Yu who was a wise and humble general, and Liu Bei who took care of other people with a gentle personality. We have met all these three characters here in Fukuoka.

Brother Jang Ho who is always ready to do anything for Zion (WMSCOG) is like Zhang Fei, and Brother Li Jin is wise and humble like Guan Yu, and Brother Matsushita has a warm personality like Liu Bei. Just as Liu Bei, Guan Yu and Zhang Fei formed brotherly ties and put their strength together into the establishment of their kingdom, the three brothers in Fukuoka, who have become heavenly brothers through the Passover, are putting their strength together into the completion of the heavenly gospel. We are looking forward to their activities that they will show for the gospel.
