Recently, I happened to see an exhibition of an artist with my family. I like painting, so it was delightful to see the beautiful art pieces, but moreover it was very meaningful because I could feel Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother’s deep love through the exhibition.
As I walked through the exhibition, one of the paintings caught my eyes. It depicted a school of fish swimming joyfully in between lotus flowers and leaves. Surprisingly, it was painted by an elementary school child. Although it said it was modified by the artist, it looked not in the least bit childish. There were actually quite a number of these kinds of paintings which were painted by little children. Pictures of beautiful flowers, birds, houses and mountains … They were so wonderful and lovely that I could not believe they were painted by children.
Beside those paintings, there were photos showing the children painting, and as I looked at the photos, I couldn’t help but laugh. All that the children were putting on the paper were only random colored patches. However, under the hand of the artist, the pink patches turned into the petals of lotus flowers, and the dirty ones transformed into rocks in the mountain.
It could have been much easier for the artist to paint his own painting from the start. However, in order to allow the children to feel the joy of creating an art piece, he painstakingly decorated those random patches one by one, and proudly wrote the name of the child on the painting beside his name though the children themselves did not paint much.
Standing in front of those paintings, I was reminded of Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother who run the great gospel work through us who are lacking in so many ways. Father and Mother correct everything behind the scene. What we have been doing for the gospel is not different from what those children have painted, yet Father and Mother, who are the greatest artists, turn them into masterpieces.
Even though what we have done is nothing, compared to the sacrifice of God, Mother always complements us. I give thanks to Mother for Her consideration and helping us realize God, who is love, by giving us opportunities to bear fruits.
