Every year, my parents sent me vegetables and grains that they raised with great effort.
But this year, they told me to come and take as much as my family can eat; so my two kids and I went to them. In the patch, leafy potato plants were waiting to be harvested. I was excited as potatoes came out in a row as I pulled them up. My kids, too, rooted them up quite well.
As an hour passed by, I was running with sweat and my legs felt numb. And my fingernails also hurt as dirt got under them. I slowed up the work and stared at distant mountain.
At that time, a thought crossed my mind.
My parents planted seed potatoes in early spring, applied fertilizer to them, and weeded the field, just to give potatoes to their children. When there was a drought, they filled buckets with water and carried them to water the field. Worrying that it might be damaged by disease and insects, they took care of it day and night.
As potatoes grew ripe, my parents told us to come to take them, but they themselves already rooted them up before we arrived so that we could easily find potatoes. Nevertheless, I said it was hard and did not focus on it while working just one day.
I look back upon myself to see how I was during spiritual farming. Heavenly Father Ahnsahnghong and God the Mother prepared good fruit, but didn’t I stare at distant mountain, thinking it was hard and boring? I won’t be lazy or complain anymore. I pray that I will harvest good fruit and please Father and Mother.
